Municipal Buildings

The City of Poughkeepsie is the Dutchess County seat.  Most municipal buildings are located within a block or two of 40 Cannon.  This is the beautiful post office. The library is also stunning and nearby. 


Nature

From kayaking on the Hudson River to golfing the courses at McCann Memorial or College Hill, there's something for everyone.  Let's not forget one of the most visited sites in the area...The Walkway over the Hudson.

Shopping

There is plenty of nearby shopping.  Cannon Street is located one block off of Market and Main Streets and a few miles from Route 9 which is busting with premier shopping.



Bars & Breweries

From a traditional Irish bar to craft brewers, Poughkeepsie has it all.  There are four breweries and dozens of  bars all nearby.


Schools/Universities

Some of the nation's best colleges and universities are located right here in the Hudson Valley and some within a mile or two from 40 Cannon.  They include Vassar College, Marist College, Bard College, The Culinary Institute of America, SUNY New Paltz, and Dutchess Community College.

Transportation

Walk to the train or the bus...it's all right here. Amtrak and Metro-North leave from the beautiful Poughkeepsie train station. The Dutchess County Loop bus services the entire county and City of Poughkeepsie. 


Hospitals

Vassar Brothers Medical Center and Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital are within two miles of 40 Cannon.  


Hotels & Inns

The Poughkeepsie Grand is within walking distance of 40 Cannon.  Worth the drive  across the river is Buttermilk Falls Inn and Spa. There are also plenty of  hotels located off of Route 9 in Poughkeepsie. 


Spas

You can stare out your window and check out the beautiful Bella Luci Salon & Spa on Liberty St.  There are plenty of other nearby spas and salons  to pamper yourself.
